The children had a fantastic day today at their Sports Day! They participated in a variety of activities and were treated to ice creams! A huge thank you to Kenny and Mikey for facilitating the Sports Day!

Huge well done to Luke Gleeson in 6th Class and to the U15 Clonea hurling team who won the John West Shield at a Féile in Mallow over the weekend.
Thank you to Mr. Whelan and the Active Schools Committee for organising a lunch time soccer league. It was great fun!!
The children in infants and 1st class tried something new today during a handwriting lesson. To improve posture, the children stood and used their chairs instead of their tables.
As part of working towards our Active School Flag, we took part in a Running Challenge for 4 weeks. During this time, we built a running break into every day. It was an excellent way for children to learn about some of Ireland’s most famous landmarks and ideal for bringing learning outdoors. Each class were given:
In total, each class aimed to complete 3726km (3726 laps!) with the older classes completing even more. Well done to the children for their excellent efforts! The children were given the chance to create their own playlist for music on the yard! All groups, from Junior Infants to 6th Class were involved and each child picked their favourite song to add to the playlist. We will update the playlist each month!
