In order to promote positive mental health and wellbeing in Clonea Power NS, we have decided to take part in the Amber Flag initiative. Our Amber Flag committee will ensure that we reach our goals.
The Amber Flag is an initiative run by Pieta House, which recognises the individual efforts or primary and secondary schools, youth reach, third level institutions, community groups, clubs and companies to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental health.

5th and 6th class worked collaboratively using digital technology to share and present their information about famous failures from history. This was a fun way for the children to learn about how famous people failed many times before they achieved success. We hope these stories will inspire our pupils. They used iPads to research the famous failures and our new interactive panels to present their findings. The technology in the panels allowed pupils to share directly from their iPads to the screen. These interactive panels were funded through our schools participation in the Learning from the Extremes programme.
We were delighted to have Keeley Corbett Barry, Waterford Camogie player, attend the school last Friday to present the U-13 girls football team with their medals!
Congratulations to Tilly, Sadhbh and Daniel on winning the handwriting of the month award for January. Well Done!
We celebrated St. Brigid's Day in style at Clonea Power NS. 2nd, 3rd and 4th class made St. Brigid's Day crosses, blessed them with holy water and visited the church to find the St. Brigid window. We watched a video about the life of St. Brigid and listened to the song "We sing a song to Brigid".
