Huge well done to Anna, Rhona and Aoibhinn who were chosen as the Spirit of Clonea for October.
Well done girls! Thank you to all parents and children who made such a fantastic effort today for our Halloween dress up. They all looked amazing and had great fun!
Well done to Robyn, Lilly and Sophia who were chosen as the best dressed. We hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!! 2nd, 3rd and 4th class engaged in a variety of activities around the theme of Halloween. We made wonky witches in art class. In Science, we made rockets and loved launching them outside. We wrote spooky stories in English and Irish and enjoyed performing Irish dramas. Maith sibh a pháistí! The children in the infant room had lots of fun learning about and getting ready for Halloween. We carved a pumpkin, made Halloween gloop, played in the Witch's Kitchen, created spells and potions, built haunted houses and created lovely pieces of art! Our favourite part was our "Puking Pumpkin" experiment!! Tá Naíonáin Bheaga, Mhóra agus Rang 1 réidh le haghaidh Oíche Shamhna. Nach iontach iad!! For Maths Week, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class visited the grounds of our beautifully renovated old school.
They worked in pairs and devised maths trails based on environmental maths. They had great fun and created some thought provoking questions. Maith sibh! Congratulations and well done to Robert, Adam and Saoirse on their first ever debate. They were fantastic and the staff and pupils are extremely proud of their performance.
The children in Juniors, Seniors and First Class have been learning all about autumn over the last few weeks.
During play, the children built homes for animals getting ready to hibernate. They were busy at the autumn harvest market and created scarecrows and owls. The children went on an autumn walk to look out for all the things they learned about! |
