The children in 5th and 6th class had great fun creating Halloween masks.
We even had a creation of "Terrifying Teletubbies". The children in Infants and First Class celebrated Spar National Tree Day 2021 by planting a Wild Cherry tree on the school grounds.
The pupils and staff were delighted to visit the newly renovated old school today.
Rose gave a brief overview of the school's history and spoke about the renovations that have been completed on the 150-year-old building. Seán Cusack spoke to the children about his "700k for the Hall in Clonea" fundraiser and the importance of perseverance and determination. The children were given a tour of the inside of the building and received treats afterwards. Thank you to Rose and Seán for having us today! The children in 5th and 6th class were very lucky to join in to a live stream interview with the very popular children's author, David Walliams.
The children were given the opportunity to ask questions and listen to a read aloud by the author! Congratulations to Imogen from 5th, Billy from 2nd and Tilly from Senior Infants who won our 'Handwriter of the Month' award!
Grace from Senior Infants, Hollie from 2nd and Robert from 6th were our worthy winners of the Spirit of Clonea award. Well done and keep up the excellent efforts! |
