The children in Juniors, Seniors and First Class were extremely excited to visit Sullivan's Farm today. While on the farm the children visited the milking parlour and saw the cluster for milking the cows, saw tractors and farm equipment, fed the calves, visited the fruit and vegetable garden, planted snowdrops, had a picnic and picked daffodils on their way back to the school! The children are covering the theme of Farming at the moment and were delighted to engage in such meaningful learning. A huge thank you to Mrs. O'Brien for organising the trip and to her sister Mary for bringing the children around the farm. We are extremely grateful. The children had a fantastic time and had a smile on their faces from beginning to end!
The children in Juniors, Seniors and 1st class are currently participating in balance bike training. The programme focuses on play and games while developing the physical literacy of the young children mainly through ABC’s- (Agility, Balance, Coordination) on and off the bikes. The children in Juniors, Seniors and First Class have been covering the theme of food over the last fortnight. They learned all about "Fairtrade" and have been keeping an eye out for Fairtrade products while in shops. As a treat today, the children made and enjoyed chocolate biscuit cake using Fairtrade chocolate! Bhí seisiún ceoil iontach againn ar scoil inniu chun ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ a chéiliúradh. Ceol agus craic den scoth! Bhain na páistí an-taitneamh as. Míle buíochas le Micko, Anthony, Mick agus Daire Roche!
The children in 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes were busy writing St. Patrick's Day cards to their relatives, neighbours and friends. An Post will be busy next week! Ghlac na páistí páirt i tráth na gceist ar an Aoine sa tseanscoil. Comhghairdeas leis na buaiteoirí; Robert, Holly, Sylwia agus Daniel. Maith sibh a pháistí! On Friday, the children participated in a quiz in the old school as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. Congratulations to our winners Robert, Holly, Sylwia and Daniel! |
